By Bailey Barkley

Today (Wednesday) marked our first full day in Honduras.  We began by taking a tour of the area and the places where we will work.  For most of the day we began one of our main projects - to help build a playground for the children of La Tranquilidad Children's Home (more pictures of this project to come in the following posts).

This afternoon we visited a roadside feeding ministry in a small nearby area called Tejeras.  Nearby children come daily for a meal - most of them walking across a dangerous road to get to the small building where we served.  These children come from poor families who live as squatters in shacks.  We helped serve the children and then we played with them with bubbles, stickers, and yo-yo's.

From Lubbock to Quimistan

The mission team from Lubbock UMC arrived safely yesterday!  Tranquilidad Fd. is thrilled to welcome them back this year for their second annual visit.  It is great to see a few familiar faces and to meet more of our brothers and sisters in Christ.  They will be hard at work this week: constructing a playground area with a shelter at our home; holding clinics for children in the area; sharing the love of Jesus with our children and all with whom they meet.

Please follow their story in this blog over the next 10 days.  Pray for they hearts, work, safety, and for all that God has planned for them and for us during this time.

Bendiciones! Roxanne
